Busy diary, no internet/landline, CCM in administration, roll on summer!
It certainly has been a fortnight of ‘you couldn’t make this up’ here at mono motorcycles.
No internet/broadband or landline phone.
Thing one. On the morning of Wednesday 28th May we couldn’t get through the village to get to work as the road was closed. We could see some damage to a house but more importantly we could also see a very damaged telecoms box lent against the wall.
It became very evident when we got to work what this meant for us and that was no internet/broadband or landline phone. It transpires that a drunk driver had smashed the telecoms box to bits and damaged the house behind it. This, as you can imagine, has made working particularly challenging as we rely heavily on our broadband and landline for business.
Therefore, we have had to resort to hot-spotting our phones to laptops and re-diverting the landline to the mobile.
This whole scenario has meant that our digital signal is relatively slow by comparison to normal broadband and a bit like dial up, which in turn means things are taking a little longer to process.
At the time of writing we have had conflicting information that we may be either back online today, 6th June or possibly not until the end of the month. Not ideal.
CCM Motorcycles put into administration by Pitalia Group.
Thing two. On the evening of Monday 2nd June we noticed an announcement on the CCM Motorcycles Facebook page. The page announced that CCM had been placed into administration by the Pitalia Group alongside six other companies under the umbrella.
As you can imagine this was a massive shock as we had not had any official notification that this had happened. Sadly, we now know that at 3.00pm on Monday the administrators arrived, sent everyone home and closed the doors.
We have since spoken with a contact at CCM who has let us know that no one saw it coming and it has all happened so fast.
We have been able to speak with the administrators this week who have apologised for the lack of communication, but at this time we are as in the dark as everyone else as to what is happening and going to happen.
We can thankfully continue to service CCM’s, but we cannot undertake any warranty work as at this present time there is no one to pay us or approve the work.
We are, like everyone we have spoken to, hopeful that this is a bump in the road for CCM and they will bounce back with a new owner who will lead the company forward.

Despite these challenges, we have still had a full diary this week and welcomed a good variety of bikes through our doors.
Ducati Tuesday.
On Tuesday we welcomed a Ducati Multistrada for cambelts, servicing and fork seals and then we welcomed back the Ducati 1100 Scrambler for cambelts and chain/sprockets.

KTM Super Adventure S.
We also welcomed a KTM 1290 Super Adventure S for servicing, headstock bearings, tyres, brake pads all round, new rear disc as we found the original had a crack in it and a snow foam clean.

Triumph-ant Thursday.
We had a Triumph-ant Thursday this week with three Triumphs in in one day.

First up we welcomed back Neville the Triumph T100 for an annual service.

Next up a Triumph Explorer XRx joined us for an annual service and to measure and order some baffles for the exhaust.
