Blog

February has already been a busy month. We are starting to see an increase in service, repair, tyre and MOT requests and we are already booking from March.

We also have lots of changes going on behind the scenes! Watch this space.

Week commencing 2nd Feb

CCM Blackout and CCM Maverick

Are you seeing double?

On Monday 2nd Feb we welcomed two CCM’s to the workshop.

The CCM Blackout joined us for annual servicing and to check the speedo.

The CCM Maverick joined us for a new battery, a first service and a full detail. The Maverick had a small scratch on the RH side of the tank which Daniel managed to polish out for our customer.

AJP PR7 Photo shoot @ Halnaker Chalk Pits.

On Wednesday 4th Feb we all headed up to Halnaker Chalk Pits for an AJP PR7 photo shoot.

The sun shone and it was a glorious afternoon in the sunshine for our AJP PR7 photo shoot. Enormous thanks to Klare – our fabulous photographer and supervisor, Justin – our wonderful drone pilot and to Stu – our super accommodating and incredible rider. Thanks to too Gary for making this afternoon possible.

The purpose of the afternoon was to gather as much content as possible in a short space of time which can then be used throughout the year for promotional purposes.

Thank you again to everyone involved.

AJP PR7

Despite the rain, on Friday 6th Feb it was a ridiculously busy day of visitors, phone calls, bookings and general busyness all round.

In the workshop we welcomed a Honda CB125 which joined us for its first service.

We then welcomed one of the AJP PR7’s we sold early in January back for its first service and to install a power up kit.

Across the workshop we welcomed a Suzuki V-Strom for a rear brake overhaul, rebuild, pad and disc replacement.

Bimota DB9

Not often you will see a Bimota DB9, but even more rare is the carbon addition. One of two! We were trusted by our friends over at @the.bike.broker to fit some new rubber to this weapon!

Yamaha R1

On Friday 6th Feb we sent home a stunning Yamaha R1 after quite the journey.

Late last summer our customer was filtering on his beloved R1 and a driver decided to pull into him. The R1 was quite badly damaged at the front, the nose cone was cracked in half, several plastics were broken and each side of the main fairings were badly scratched and lugs broken off. Thankfully our customer was unharmed.

However, since then we have had the bike with us twice.

Once to try and fit a kit the customer had purchased, which sadly turned out to be the weirdest shade of purple rather than Yamaha blue. During the R1’s first visit and having had a chance to assess the damage, we put it to our customer that we could actually get the damage repaired. With most of the panels off the bike, it went home for Christmas while we waited for parts from Japan and the repairs were made.

With the absolute wizardry of Stuart Jago of S Jago Designs, he not only completely repaired the broken nose cone so you cannot even tell it was ever damaged, but he also resprayed the larger faring panels, nose cone and refitted a brand-new authentic decal kit.

Once the R1 re-joined us, we were able to rebuild the bike, and it looks just as pristine as it always did.

On Friday the R1 made it’s way home, intact and ready for another great year of riding with its owner.

Week commencing 9th Feb

Triumph Bonneville Newchurch, Triumph Thunderbird, Kawasaki Z900RS.

On Monday 9th Feb we welcomed a Triumph Bonneville Newchurch for an annual service and MOT. During the service it was noted that the rear brake pads were quite low. These were replaced the next day.

Next up, Daniel started work on a Triumph Thunderbird. The Thunderbird joined us for wiring up a motogadget mo.rear light, making sure the original rear brake light still worked and wiring up the SAT Nav.

While Daniel worked on the Thunderbird, Oaklie started working on the KTM 250 . The KTM joined us for a major service, replacement of all fluids, fork seal replacement, new battery and tomorrow we will put the KTM through an MOT.

We also welcomed a Kawasaki 900 – another great sale from DJK Motorcycles Ltd – for a service and MOT.

Just to let our regular followers know, we are now booking from March and already have several bookings throughout March and April.

If you are looking for service and repair for 2026, call us on 01243 576212 / 07899 654446 or email us at info@monomotorcycles.co.uk

Kawasaki ZX12R x 2.

Double trouble!

On Tuesday we welcomed two Kawasaki ZX12R’s to the workshop both owned by one customer.

It took us an entire day  to swap parts from what we are calling the ‘donor’ bike onto the ‘keeper’

The ‘keeper’ is benefitting from all the good bits from the ‘donor’ so our customer has the benefit of one good bike for his touring adventures later in the summer.

Thus far we have:

1/ We have put the ride height back to standard on the ‘keeper’

2/ We have swapped the Brembo lever from the ‘donor’ to the ‘keeper’ and we are going to change the clutch lever to a black lever.

3/ We have fitted a new fast idle cable and lever on the ‘keeper’.

4/ We have swapped the full Akroprovic exhaust system from the ‘donor’ to the ‘keeper’.

5/ We have swapped the nearly new rear tyre from the ‘donor’ to the ‘keeper’

6/ We have also swapped the rear light cluster from the ‘donor’ to the ‘keeper’

7/ We have swapped the K&N air filter from the ‘donor’ to the ‘keeper’

The PR7 is easy to define: A real off-road bike, light, compact, agile, but comfortable, capable of good mileage and designed to carry luggage.
