5 CCM’s, 3 BMW’s, 3 Royal Enfield’s, breakfast club and a host of other motorcycles have joined us this past fortnight.

Blog

It truly has been a very busy and sometimes very hot fortnight here at mono motorcycles.

Let’s take a look at some of the motorcycles which have come through our doors this past fortnight.

Monday 7th July

A CCM kind of a Monday.

First up we welcomed a CCM Flat Tracker for its first service.

Next up we welcomed back the CCM Foggy we serviced a couple of weeks ago to put it back to standard. The Foggy had been fitted with red grips, some rather odd faux carbon hand guards, the mirrors were up the wrong way and the brake fluid pot was not correct.

We removed the red grips/faux carbon guards and have fitted black Renthal grips, we have turned the mirrors up the right way, we’ve removed the cowl so you can actually see the No1 and installed a Brembo brake fluid pot to match the brakes.

We also welcomed back a BMW S1000R for an annual service and MOT.

Tuesday 8th July

Today was a mixed bag. First up we welcomed a CCM Street Moto for a First Service and installation of a bespoke tail tidy. Oaklie completed the service in the morning and Daniel installed the tail tidy in the afternoon.

Next up we welcomed back the Suzuki GSX1250FA for an annual service and MOT.

In the afternoon Oaklie stripped down a Honda Fireblade ready for a full re-spray, powder coating of wheels and plenty of other engine and mechanical updates. Watch this space.

Thursday 10th July

On Wednesday we fitted new fork seals to the KTM 790 Adventure R ready for its next adventure.

On Thursday we welcomed a Triumph Street Triple with an intermittent indicator fault. The indicators flashed while in the workshop. At receipt it was noted that a cable leading to the dash was damaged. After tidying up the wiring behind the headlight where someone else had been in, we then rode tested the bike and the indicators stopped working. We then replaced the flasher relay, and the indicators seemed to stabilise.

The next Triumph we welcomed today was a Triumph Thruxton R. The Thruxton was booked in for an annual service. However, our customer advised that after a recent wash, the Thruxton developed a misfire. Upon receipt one of the HT lead caps came away in Oaklie’s hand. Where the cap had clearly been loose, water had got into the plugs and there were arc lines on them when removed.

We replaced the spark plugs and completed the service and the bike then ran as it should do.

We also welcomed a Kawasaki Z900RS for fitting of Innovv cameras front and rear and a new front sprocket.

Friday 11th July

A mixed bag of extremes to end the week.

First up the giant BMW R1250GSA joined us for an annual service and MOT.

Next up a KTM 125 Duke joined us as a non-start. The KTM had recently had a new exhaust fitted and the non-start began after this.

The fault codes stored in the KTM’s brain for lamda sensor/oxygen sensor had stopped the bike from starting. Once the fault codes were cleared, the bike started.

Sunday 13th July

What a sensational breakfast club. We changed the date to ensure that CBK could support us and it was 100% the right choice.

The sun was super warm, everyone was smiling, laughing, chatting, the food was fantastic, and the bikes just kept on coming.

Thank you to everyone who joined us today. It was such a brilliant celebration of the joy of biking.

We look forward to doing it all again in August.

Monday 14th July

A busy Monday here at the mono motorcycles workshop.

First up we welcomed the first of two Royal Enfield Classic 350’s.

The first Royal Enfield Classic 350 joined us for a 6000-mile service which included a valve check.

The second Royal Enfield Classic 350 joined us for an annual service and to fit a set of Oxford grips.

Next up at the other end of the speed spectrum, a BMW S1000RR joined us for oil, oil filter, air filter and brake fluid change.

Another speed machine, the Ducati Streetfighter joined us today to finish off a tail tidy fitment. Our customer had fitted the tail tidy, but then decided the wiring needed to be done by an expert. Daniel built a bespoke loom using a JIS (Japanese industry standard) plug to enable the tail tidy to be unclipped easily should our customer wish to change it in the future.

At the complete other end of the spectrum, we also welcomed back a Honda ST70 today for some annual fettling. The ST has an oil leak and the lights don’t seem to be working. We are also tightening down the head.

We also welcomed a lovely Royal Enfield Himalayan to the workshop for a pre-sales safety check. Another great sale from DJK Motorcycles Ltd

Tuesday 15th July

CCM Flat Tracker

We had a bit of a CCM day on Tuesday. First, we welcomed a CCM Flat Tracker for an annual service and some TLC. The FT had not been serviced since 2021.

We found a wire backed out of the rear light loom which had caused an intermittent fault. Repaired.

Our customer had advised that he couldn’t get the bike in neutral. With a change of clutch fluid and a clutch adjustment this part of the process was corrected.

We had been advised that the bash plate/guard didn’t seem to fit correctly. Upon removal the two large washers which should be underneath were missing. Replaced.

The headlight position was incorrect. Corrected.

The earth bolt under the seat had sheared. Replaced.

High bean button sticky. Lubricated.

Daniel took the FT for a spin afterwards and the bike had a distinct spring in its step.

CCM Maverick – prototype

Not every day you have a prototype bike in the workshop.

Today we welcomed the CCM Maverick prototype to the workshop for an annual service and pre-tour check.

The Maverick prototype was originally loaned to our customer during it’s development while his CCM was being built. Having completed some quite extreme adventures and many miles together, our customer finally purchased the Maverick prototype once CCM had completed their pre-sales testing.

Our customer is preparing for The Great Malle Arctic Rally 2025. The Arctic Rally adventure will set the 2000mile / 3500km motorcycle challenge, across the greatest landscapes in Scandinavia. From Copenhagen, Denmark, through Sweden, up into Norway and across the majestic Norwegian Fjords, past the Arctic Circle and right up to the Rally finish line at the end of mainland Europe, at Nordkapp / The North Cape / Davvenjárga (in Sami).

Wednesday 16th July

On Wednesday  we welcomed back a very regular visitor the Honda VFR800 Crossrunner. We have been looking after this particular customers motorcycles since 2020. The Crossrunner joined us for a full service and front discs and pads.

We also welcomed a Kawasaki Vulcan for a new set of tyres. Our customer has taken advantage of the Avon tyres ‘Ride and Rebate’ deal and will receive a £30.00 rebate on his Avon Spirit St tyres.

Dunlop are also running a rebate scheme and both deals are running through to September.

We have three breakfast club’s left for this year. Sunday 24th August, Sunday 28th September and Sunday 12th October.

However, another date to add to your diary for this year is our Charity Gig in aid of SERV Wessex on Saturday 29th November at The Pallant Centre, Havant. Tickets will go on sale in August.
