Spring is in the air. A hive of activity this week at the mono motorcycles workshop.

Blog

There is definitely the starting of spring in the air. The daylight hours are getting longer, and some days have been sunny and clear.

The mono motorcycles workshop has certainly been a hive of activity this week. Let’s take a look at some of the motorcycles which have joined us this week.

Monday 17th March

Daniel and Oaklie. Working together. Learning together.

On Monday  we welcomed a Royal Enfield Bullet Classic 500 for an Interim service and an MOT and a Honda CB 500 XA-M for a full service and pre-tour checks.

We also welcomed an MV Agusta F4 to the workshop to free off the clutch and an MOT.

Next up, we welcomed a Triumph Bonneville T120 for an Annual service. This one needed a new chain and the rear brake caliper cleaning so the bike stayed with us overnight while we sourced additional parts.

On Monday afternoon Oaklie started tackling the extra work on the Triumph Trophy and Daniel started work on a KTM 790 Adventure R and making some modifications before it sets off for a tour of Morocco.

Tuesday 18th March

On Tuesday we welcomed a Triumph NightStorm originally for a Major Service and MOT. First of all we put the bike through the MOT to ensure there were no additional things we needed to cover during the service.

Once the bike was in the workshop and up on the ramp, we noted quite a lot of oil around the head gasket and lower gasket. We also noted that there was a hole in the drive belt, the diagnostic plug had corroded away, the rear brake pads were low, the oil pressure light wasn’t working and there was a leak from the air intake manifold.

To change the lower gasket you need to remove the engine and with the bike only allocated enough hours for a Major Service, we did not have the additional hours available to complete the service and the engine out repairs.

Therefore, our customer has rebooked the bike in April when we do have the additional time to be able to tackle everything in one go.

We also welcomed a BMW F800GSA to the workshop with an intermittent starting fault. The bike had several low voltage fault codes stored in its memory. Therefore, we needed a new battery to create a baseline for assess and see if it was a faulty battery or if there is an underlying additional fault.

Once the new battery was installed, the bike started first time, every time.

We also welcomed a BMW S1000R to the workshop for a Full Service. This one also needed a new battery.

Wednesday 19th March

On Wednesday we welcomed back one of our very regular customer Yamaha MT09 and another regular customers Kawasaki Vulcan 650 for a replacement stator.

We also took the opportunity to continue with our catch up work, ensuring we reunite our customers motorcycles with them in a timely fashion.

Thursday 20th March

On Thursday we  welcomed a Ducati Monster 696 for an Interim Service, a KTM 390 Duke for a Full Service, replacement stator and an MOT, a Triumph Thruxton R for an interim service and an MOT and a BMW R1100 for a brake assessment in advance of an MOT on Friday.

Friday 21st March

On Friday we welcomed a Ducati Multistrada to the mono motorcycles workshop for a Quickshifter fitting, service, chain clean and an ACF50 treatment.

In the afternoon we completed six back-to-back MOT’s.

Bookings update.

We have very limited availability left for April.

If you are looking for regular service, MOT, repair or tyres please do contact us well in advance to avoid disappointment.

Open Day, Sunday 23rd March

Join us on Sunday 23rd March 2025 for our joint Open Day at mono motorcycles and DJK Motorcycles, New Barn, Funtington, Chichester, PO18 9DA.

Come and talk to us about your 2025 service, repair and MOT requirements and about what quality used bike options are available to you.

We are really excited to welcome back CCM Motorcycles to our Open Day. CCM will have a display of their stunning motorcycles and there will be test ride opportunities too.

We are really pleased to welcome Dunlop Tyres to our Open Day for 2025. Dunlop will bring examples of their vast motorcycle tyre range, be able to give advice and offer a tyre matching service. I’m sure there will be a freebie or two available too (they are very generous like that)

We will have hot food served all day by Hunger Busters and Barista Coffee and Cake supplied by Our Little Place.

This is a great opportunity to get out for the start of spring and think about your options for 2025. It’s also a fantastic opportunity to find out more about who we are and what we can offer, whilst also supporting local businesses in the process.

We look forward to welcoming you to our Spring Open Day. Tell your friends, share this event and let’s have a great day together.
