A mono motorcycles Christmas Story with Daniel the ‘wiring whisperer’ Elf
Twas the night before Christmas & all of Santa’s Elves were working feverishly in Santa’s workshop to make sure all of the presents were ready for him to deliver.
There was tinsel & wrapping paper swirling in the air. Elves & Mrs Claus in quality control ensuring every present was allocated to the right child & everyone was full of Christmas cheer.
At the back of Santa’s workshop, Daniel the ‘wiring whisperer’ Elf sat quietly on the testing rig, ensuring all of the electrical toys were wired correctly. Every electrical toy was checked thoroughly & when one of them had a fault, he used his electrical magic to work through the problem & ensure it was 100% ready to be sent out to Santa’s packing depot.
Suddenly, the most senior Elf burst through the doors of the workshop, fear & terror across his face & he announced with a tremble in his voice” Santa’s trike won’t start! “
Across Santa’s workshop thousands of nimble fingers stopped what they were doing & a collective “Noooooo!” resounded in every corner of the workshop.
“What are we going to do?” “Does anyone know why it won’t start?” “How can Santa deliver his gifts without his magical festive trike?” Questions came thick & fast. Elf after Elf panic written across their normally smiling faces, chattered & chittered to other Elves’ trying to think of a way to save Christmas.
All of a sudden, Biker Elf shouted “Daniel the ‘wiring whisperer’ Elf, he can fix it, he’s the one who can save Christmas”
Daniel the ‘wiring whisperer’ Elf looked up from his testing rig, over his half moon glasses & calmly said “Of course I can help. Where’s Santa’s trike?”
Senior Elf lead Daniel the ‘wiring whisperer’ Elf to the special garage at the back of Santa’s workshop. There it was. Santa’s trike. The base engine was a KTM Superduke & the body work was completely custom. The trike was painted in Christmas red & the wheels picked out in snow white. Attached to the back was the magical sledge which carried Santa’s giant sack of presents.
“So what happened?” Daniel the ‘wiring whisperer’ Elf asked.
The senior trike technician explained that they had just been going through some last minute check’s, when all of a sudden the trike cut out & wouldn’t start.
Daniel the ‘wiring whisperer’ Elf asked if this had ever happened before, to which the answer was no.
Daniel the ‘wiring whisperer’ Elf did no more than gather his magical tool kit & set to work.
First thing he checked was if the trike had a spark. It didn’t. This didn’t bode well. Once Daniel the ‘wiring whisperer’ Elf had checked that the magic fuel was fresh, he then checked the motogadget system on the trike (which he had fitted last Christmas) & noticed that it was telling him that a circuit was out.
Using his magical TEXA machine & mulitmeter, Daniel the ‘wiring whisperer’ Elf traced the wires where the circuit was indicating it had a fault. There nestled in amongst the wiring loom was the problem. A chewed wire!
All eyes in the room turned slowly to where Sprocket the reindeer dog was sitting in the corner, chewing on a Christmas box. A collective “Sprocket!” resounded around the garage, to which Sprocket laid down, looked up under his eye brows & every Elf instantly forgave him.

Daniel the ‘wiring whisperer’ Elf then set about splicing open the wiring loom, cleaning the wires & connectors, reconnecting the chewed wire & neatly heat shrinking the wires together back into the loom.
“Try that” Daniel the ‘wiring whisperer’ Elf said.
The Senior Santa’s trike technician primed the motogadget unit, clicked the push button switch & Santa’s trike roared into life.
A resounding “Hurray!” was heard from around the garage & out into Santa’s workshop. At that point, the big man himself walked into the garage.
“My trike, it’s running” said Santa “Now who on earth found the fault with it?”
“It was Daniel the ‘wiring whisperer’ Elf Santa all of the other Elves’ said in unison.
“But where is this wiring genius so I might thank him myself?”
A sea of happy Elves parted & behind them stood Daniel the ‘wiring whisperer’ Elf. He smiled & accepted the giant handshake which Santa extended towards him.
“Thank you Daniel the ‘wiring whisperer’ Elf. Without your magical electrical & wiring knowledge, I wouldn’t have been able to deliver all the presents. Thank you Daniel the ‘wiring whisperer’ Elf, you have saved Christmas”
Cheers of joy & a resounding “For he’s a jolly good fellow” sang out across Santa’s garage & workshop.
As Santa’s Elves’ filled his giant sack with gifts for the children of the world & loaded them onto the sledge on the back of the KTM trike; Santa beckoned Daniel the ‘wiring whisperer’ Elf over to him. “Have you got a warm jacket Daniel? I’d like you to accompany me & Sprocket this evening & help us deliver these gifts to the children of the world.”
An Elf being asked to join Santa on Christmas eve was a high honour indeed, one which Daniel the ‘wiring whisperer’ Elf happily agreed to.
With Santa sporting his latest green & white trimmed biker jacket & his new Arai lid; Daniel the ‘wiring whisperer’ Elf, Sprocket & Santa ascended into the sparkling night sky, powered by the magic of Christmas & a KTM Superduke engine & disappeared into Christmas night. As they sped off the air was filled with one clear message “Merry Christmas to everyone, peace on earth & good will to all”
The end.
