CCM Maverick, CCM Tracker and Ducati Multistrada
Last week we welcomed back CCM Maverick No1 (the prototype) for a Major Service after its recent trip to the Arctic Circle. Our customer noted that unfortunately with no cover on the air filter, it did get very waterlogged. However, he used his ingenuity and fashioned a water bottle cover for the air filter. It definitely needed changing! We also changed the clutch plates in this one.

Next up we welcomed a CCM Tracker for an Annual Service.

While Oaklie had a CCM day, Daniel got to grips with a regular visitor to the workshop, the Ducati Multistrada.
On this visit we changed the Carpuride and Garmin position, fitted an Evotek bracket, changed the handguard mounts, removed an additional power cable, fitted uprated power/starter cables and relocated the phone.
Honda Goldwing and Piaggio MP3
2 and 3 wheels today at mono motorcycles.
First up we welcomed a Honda Goldwing for an Innovv camera install and positive battery block install.

Oaklie got to grips with a service on a regular Piaggio MP3 and then moved on to a Honda Pan European for a new rear tyre and a clutch fluid change.

Ducati Multistrada Suspension Set up
The Ducati from Monday was part of our suspension set up session on Tuesday alongside our customers KTM 790 Adventure.
The purpose of the sessions was to get a base level suspension and set up the static sag for our customer, as he rides both bikes in different settings and environments.

Triumph Tiger 900 and Aprilia GT 125
….and in the red corner!
First up we welcomed an Aprilia GT125 for an Annual Service and MOT.

Next up we welcomed a regular Triumph Tiger GT Pro to the workshop for a winter clean and ACF50 treatment. Our cleaning offers are only £75.00 + VAT dependant on the make or model of the bike for a snow foam wash, clean and ACF50 winter treatment.
Contact us on 01243 576212 / 07899 654446 for more information.

Kawasaki XV1900
Our seeing red theme continued with a Yamaha XV1900 Stratoliner Deluxe.
The XV1900 joined us for a motogadget mo.lock (keyless) installation, re-connection of the O2 sensor and a new set of Avon Cobra Chrome tyres.
To access to the ignition switch, Daniel had to remove the front fairing (red) then remove the tank as the radio had been hard wired in and was restricting the removal of the inner black part of the front fairing. Once this and the headlight were removed, he could gain access to the ignition switch.
As part of the process Daniel added in new connectors for the radio wiring for easy access should the fairing need to be removed in the future.
The RFID sensor was initially going to be installed under the chrome panel (not metal), but this did not work. Daniel therefore fitted the sensor inside the fairing, and it is still as accessible.

KTM 125 Duke
Earlier in the summer we had been asked to plug the KTM into TEXA to see if there were any fault codes which would have caused the bike to not run properly.
At the time the only fault code was for a crank sensor. The customer took the bike away and replaced the crank sensor.
In the meantime, the customer noted that the KTM simply would not run properly. It would be fine sometimes and then others it would cough and wheeze and break down.
Our customer booked the bike back in months later to see if we could make any sense of the running fault.
We plugged the KTM back into TEXA, checked the spark plug – which was very black – and changed the spark plug, unplugged a power commander which had been fitted (to try and get a base line to work with) but the KTM would not run.
Next step was to check inside the fuel tank, and this is where we found the ectoplasm!
When Oaklie drained the tank, it was like it had milk in it. Not just milky liquid, but real milk. When the fluids had settled, the fuel was on the top, small globules of oil were floating underneath and underneath that was a milk like substance.
We have seen ‘milk’, oil and water mixes before, but nothing like this.
It just so happened that one of our customers who is Professor of Chemistry happened to be with us that morning and we asked his opinion.
He advised that the milk like substance was water based which we had already assumed, but also what had most likely happened was that the ethanol in the fuel had also mixed with whatever water-based substance had made its way into the tank and created – milk!
We have also found that the fuel pipe into the engine is blocked.
We were authorised to continue with a tank flush/dry fuel flush, unblock the fuel pipe and get the bike safely running which we did do so. However, once our customer arranged to remove the bike, we advised that despite us having got the bike running, there was no guarantee that the fuel pump and or injector were not damaged having had water in them for so long.

Motorcycle Live 2025
A few highlights from the annual #MCL25 pilgrimage.
Ducati, BMW, Kove Moto UK were definitely keeping it fresh and sprightly this year.
Loved the Suzuki 40th Anniversary GSXR1000R and the Dean Harrison limited edition Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SPs of which only 12 have been built.
Wonderful to listen to Peter Hickman giving a live commentary on a video of him on a lap of the TT.
It was fabulous to finally meet Langen Motorcycles designer and engineer Chris Ratcliffe. What an incredible collection Langen are building and a truly British brand.
Lovely as always to meet up with Sarah (Bella the Honda NC750’s owner) on the Honda Owners Club stand.
Really great to catch up with Ben – formally CCM Chief Design Engineer – and find out more about @Blacksheep Power the most incredibly fascinating and technologically intriguing electric bike. Blew our minds.
“By cutting copper directly instead of winding wire, we gain exact cross-sectional control, minimising heat build-up and maximising electromagnetic precision.”
New discovery this year was Mental Riders Their awesome, vibrant, eye catching and conversation starting apparel and under armour range had us both purchasing in minutes.
The Mental Riders ethos resonates with us both.
“We are a family from all backgrounds who share the same passion of riding and coming together in our love of bikes. Our mission is to promote and support mental health awareness, and to prompt conversations across the world – not only in the biking community, but all communities that allow us to ride and be free.”
Mental Riders donate 10% of their profits directly to selected mental health charities.
Lovely energy to the show in general with plenty to see and lots to talk about.

Honda Dominator, Triumph 800xrx and Yamaha Tracer GT
A busy Monday with an inconvenient power cut mid-afternoon just to mix things up a bit!
We welcomed another winter project bike on Monday. The Honda Dominator is being completely stripped, the frame and engine painted/powder coated/cerakoted and then once the bike is back together, Daniel will be undertaking a full motogadget rewire.

Oaklie got to task with a Triumph 800xrx in the morning installing a quickshifter and in the afternoon he installed a lowering kit on a Yamaha Tracer GT mostly in the dark and by the light of torches only.
The power cut was thankfully short lived but it certainly gave a little bit of a quandary as the GT was stuck in the air as the power went off.
Thankfully the power came back on pretty much as Oaklie had finished.

Kawasaki Z900.
Another successful Suspension Set up for Daniel and Oaklie on Thursday.
One of our regular customers having just purchased his Kawasaki Z900 needed the set up to work to his weight.
We also showed our Z900 customer how to also adjust the compression should he wish to take a pillion.

New team member.
Please join us as we welcome Jack to mono motorcycles.
Jack is studying Motorcycle Level 1 at Chichester College, the very same course Oaklie took what seems like forever ago.
Jack is relatively new to riding and is gaining a lot of experience in Motocross.
Jack joined us last Tuesday for a trial day and as we all got along really well and he showed a genuine keenness to learn, a curious mind and a clear passion for bikes; it definitely was the right decision to offer him a part time job.
Jack will be working with us part time while he studies at Chichester College.
Jack was in at the deep end on Tuesday as he helped Daniel completely strip the Honda Dominator ready for frame painting. Jack spent quite some time cleaning up the components and then Daniel and Jack stripped the forks ready for the bottom of the fork legs to be powder coated.

KTM 690 Enduro R.
This week welcomed a KTM 690 Enduro R and completed a full service, brake pad change and installation of a longer-range fuel tank.
During the process Oaklie found what looked like sand in the clutch master cylinder pot. The system has had to be stripped down and fully flushed to remove the contaminants. The seals have been damaged and therefore we have ordered a new seal kit.
Part of the process was to install a longer range fuel tank which will give the bike about miles more. KTM have very cleverly included the additional fuel pipes as part of the build and you connect as and when needed.

AJP PR7.
