From Royal Enfield to CCM, from Triumph to Ducati we’ve got you covered at mono motorcycles

Blog

It’s been a busy week, with plenty of catch-up time for overhanging jobs. Here is just a snapshot of some of the bikes we have welcomed through our doors this week.

Royal Enfield Himalayan

On Monday morning we welcomed two ’24 plate Royal Enfield Himalayan motorcycles for safety checks prior to a European tour.

People often ask us if we can perform service work while a motorcycle is under warranty. The simple answer is Yes.

As a VAT registered company we can undertake servicing under warranty, as long as we use genuine manufacturer parts and as long as the bike is serviced in accordance with the manufacturer’s handbook.

For all your motorcycle service and repair, please contact Daniel or Katy on 01243 576212 / 07899 654446 or email us at info@monomotorcycles.co.uk

Kawasaki ZZR600

We also welcomed a Kawasaki ZZR600 to the workshop on Monday for fitting of uprated fork springs and replacing fork seals.

We had ordered the parts weeks ago to ensure we had them in stock. However, when we removed the ZZR600 springs from the packaging and then removed the springs from the bike, they were completely different lengths.

Having spoken with our supplier, it transpired that the ZZR had had an earlier models internals fitted at some point in its life and before our customer had owned the bike.

We therefore had to order the correct uprated springs (thankfully in stock) and fit in the repairs the next day.

Ducati Multistrada

Up on the ramp on Tuesday we welcomed a Ducati Mutistrada for new chain and sprockets and new tyres.

Our customer is off on a tour shortly, but has taken the wise step of having his new chain fitted a couple of weeks before the trip. This will enable the chain to naturally stretch while riding so we can adjust it before his trip.

Note: New chains naturally stretch after fitting. If they are adjusted too tightly at fitting, they can snap.

Honda CBR SP2

On Tuesday we welcomed a stunning Honda CBR SP2 for annual servicing.

CCM Spitfire Tracker

We also welcomed a CCM Tracker to the mono motorcycles workshop for a 4000 mile service.

During the service it was noted that the bike would not turn on by its RFID keyless system. The customers battery had been left to go flat and it was after this that the RFID failed.

motogadget have improved and upgraded their m.lock (RFID) system recently making it an even better option for keyless operation, particularly if you are customising a motorcycle.

Once we had completed the service and repairs, the CCM had a new MOT.

Triumph Bobber

On Wednesday we welcomed a stunning custom Triumph Bonneville Bobber to the mono motorcycles workshop. This beautiful example of customisation was created by local custom house TwinThing Custom Motorcycles located in Waterlooville, Hampshire.

The Bobber joined us for an Interim Service and to have the new rear shock softened off.

CCM Bobber Stealth

On Friday we welcomed a stunning CCM Bobber Stealth to the mono motorcycles workshop. The Stealth joined us for a first service and to fit a side mounted registration and under seat indicators.

The side mounted registration system and under seat indicators are specially designed for the CCM range and are available from CCM as part of their accessories range.
