Honda, AJP, Kawasaki, Suzuki, KTM, BMW and more at mono motorcycles this week.
A very mixed bag this week at the mono motorcycles workshop. Let’s take a look at some of the motorcycles which have joined us this week.
Monday
First up on Monday we welcomed a Peugeot Sportline for a full service and an MOT.
During the service it was noted that the forks seals were leaking. Having contacted our customer, he authorised the additional work and we ordered new seals.

Next up we welcomed a very clean Suzuki GSX1250FA for a new radiator and an MOT.

On Monday afternoon we stripped down a regular visitor in the shape of a KTM 790 Adventure ready for a new thermostat.

Tuesday
On Tuesday we completed the work on the Peugeot Sportline and replaced the fork seals and air filter.
We have also been working with a BMW R850R on and off since before Christmas.
Our customer purchased the bike as an inexpensive runner and has spent some time having a major service and other bits and pieces undertaken.
Today we fitted a new fuel pump and replaced the overflow pipes with clear as these are notorious for clogging.
Unfortunately, during the fuel pump change we found what looked like confetti in the fuel. It transpires that it is the liner from the inside of the tank starting to break up.
Our customer has managed to source another tank and we will re-book this when it arrives.

Wednesday
It was a DJK Motorcycles Ltd sales day on Wednesday and we welcomed 5 sold motorcycles and one new stock all for different actions.
The KTM 890 Duke joined us for post sales servicing, safety checks and an MOT.
The Kawasaki Ninja S1000SX joined us for a safety check and an MOT.
The Ducati Multistrada joined us for a safety check, MOT and new rear tyre.
The Honda CB1000R joined us for a safety check and the Aprilia Shiver joined us for safety check.
DJK also have a Triumph Street Triple RX for sale which joined us for presales service and safety checks.
DJK Motorcycles Ltd have some incredible motorcycles for sale and whether you are looking to purchase now or are planning your spring/summer ride, Danny is always on hand to help.

Thursday
On Thursday we welcomed an older AJP PR5 which is fitted with a 250cc four stroke.
Our customer has had some starting and running issues and here’s a few issues we found under investigation.
Kinked fuel hose between the fuel pump and the outlet.
Air leak around the intake.
Crimped fuel hose from the tank to the injector.
Wrong spark plug fitted, corrosion in the fuse blocks, and a wire earthing the switched earth side of the fuel pump making it run continuously.
The TPS was also miles out. It runs a little better now.
Once the TPS arrives we will be able to get the bike running as it should do.

Friday
A Japanese themed morning on Friday.
First up we welcomed a Honda CBF125 for an annual service, chain tighten and to assess the RH front indicator bulb.
The chain was found to be on its maximum adjustment and we advised the customer it will need replacing. The indicator issue was just a bulb and as soon as this was replaced, it was flashing away merrily.
Next up we welcomed back a Honda CBF500 for an annual service and an MOT.
Next up we welcomed the weapon that is the Kawasaki ZZR1400 for a new front tyre and daytime running light fault.
When our customer arrived we noted that his rear tyre was nearly flat. Our customers initial thoughts were did he run over something on the front which then hit the back.
However, thankfully under investigation it was found that the rear tyre was leaking through the core of an after market 90° valve. We have replaced the valve with a standard rubber one.

We also welcomed back the KTM 690 Enduro R for some upgrades. The KTM has now been fitted with a Healtech Thunderbox, new wiring for a heated jacket and initially fitted an OBD splitter and dongle.
Under investigation the dongle would not work and under further investigation it was found that there was no power at pin 16 of the OBD plug. Our customer has been informed.
