Monday

We started the week still buzzing from Sunday’s trip to Thruxton for the British Superbikes!

Huge thanks to Adam at McAMS for hooking us up with a full VIP experience.

As massive BSB fans, Daniel, Katy, and Katy’s dad were in their absolute element. Getting so close to the action, touring the garages with Raceways Yamaha owner Steve Rodgers, and rubbing shoulders with our racing heroes on the grid walk was an absolute dream.

Thanks again, Adam, for an unforgettable day!

Tuesday

Tuesday kept us on our toes at the workshop.

First on the ramp was a Ducati Hyperstrada for its annual service and a new chain and sprocket kit. Of course, Italian bikes love to keep us guessing; while removing the footrest assembly to get to the sprocket, an aluminium bolt sheared under minimal pressure. Ducati assured us this is a pretty common issue, so we’ve got a replacement on the way for the end of the week.

Next, we got stuck into an annual service on a KTM 1290 Super Adventure S. Daniel also spent a good chunk of the day tackling our outstanding jobs—waiting on parts, diagnosing unexpected issues, and sorting those tricky tasks only he can handle.

Wednesday

Wednesday was another productive one.

Jack picked up where he left off with the KTM 1290, finishing the service and replacing the brake pads, while Daniel took a customer out for a spin on the demo AJP.

Next, Jack made great progress (with a bit of backup from Daniel) on an XJR1300, getting it fully serviced and ready for Daniel to MOT.

Daniel also fitted a new front tyre on a regular’s Africa Twin and got back to chipping away at some of the jobs we’ve been waiting on parts for. We’re currently waiting on parts for a BMW with a fuel leak and putting together a damage estimate for an MT-10.

Thursday

On Thursday, Jack spent most of his day tackling a full service and a new chain and sprockets on a Yamaha MT-07. Even though it’s got over 60k miles on the clock, you can tell this bike has been seriously looked after. The customer is only its second owner, and that care really showed while we had it on the ramp.

Next, we had a Royal Enfield Interceptor come in with a bit of a head-scratcher. It had a misfire and a weird glitch that threw up the engine management and ABS lights, though there was no noticeable drop in performance. After some digging, we found it was intermittently overcharging at 15.8v, pointing straight to a faulty regulator/rectifier. We’ve swapped out both the reg/rec and the coil, which should sort the issue.

We also finished up on the CCM Flat Tracker that came in last week. It originally came to us for a TPS check because it kept stalling, but the real culprit turned out to be a failed clutch master cylinder.

We’ve replaced and upgraded it to a Brembo master cylinder, along with an Oberon Performance slave. During the test ride the CCM performed perfectly.

Friday

We had a familiar face back in the workshop on Friday, with one of our regulars bringing in their Triumph Tiger Sport 1050 for a full service and to check out some creaking in the suspension.

Daniel stripped down the rear shock linkage and had to press out one of the bearings. He got them greased up and put back together for now, but they’re definitely going to need replacing down the line.
