Mono Motorcycles at NEC Motorcycle Live 2017
Daniel Morris from Mono motorcycles, Havant is a registered DATATOOL Mobile Installer. Last week he was invited to work on the official DATATOOL stand at the NEC Motorcycle Live 2017.
Katy and I planned to go to Motorcycle Live at the NEC anyway. I had already spoken to my contact at DATATOOL & offered to represent the company on the Thursday & Friday of the show. I was accepted & knew that this would be a great opportunity for me & for mono motorcycles.
On the Sunday we (Katy & I) decided to jump in the car and head up to the show to take in the sights and have a look at the new motorcycles on offer. We were not disappointed! All of the latest models were on show & it was thoroughly refreshing to see such a British contingent on offer this year.
Although we have a great affection for certain European bikes, Motorcycle Live 2017 was very much about being British.
The dramatic Ace Sport & Ace R on the Ariel stand. The chrome of the V4 SS & the slick styling of the Commando 961 Cafe Racer on the Norton stand. The feisty character of the CCM Scrambler & of course the Triumph 765 MOTO 2 test bike. What a great show piece for British engineering at Motorcycle Live 2017.
One of the other reasons for our visit to Motorcycle Live 2017, was to speak to ABBA Stands about their Skylift.
This British made product acts like a single poster ramp for a motorcycle & we thought this would be a vital piece of equipment for our workshop. After we have used it for a month or so I will review and let you know what I think.
After a mad few days in the workshop Wednesday I got a phone call from Dave at DATATOOL telling me I would be “holding the fort” on Thursday morning as he wouldn’t be there. No pressure then Dave!
After a few restless hours sleep on Wednesday night, I was up at 5am & heading Northwards by 5.30am! Having got to the NEC for 9am, I headed to the hall to find the stand. It felt a bit weird to be in the venue without the public in there, but it gave me a chance to have another quick look around and say good morning to Steve Parrish & James Whitman who just happened to walk towards me!
Both days where extremely busy, loads of questions on both TrakKING & alarms, tales of bikes being stolen & plenty being recovered thanks to TrakKING.
Datatool also took the opportunity to launch the new TrakKING Adventure.
The TrakKING Adventure has been available for a few months, but under the guise of a BMW approved product. The main reason for the new unit is this runs on the much faster & more accurate GPS & Glonass satelites, journey plotting & a rider down message to a loved one.
We are currently offering the TrakKING Adventure for £299 (normally £330) supply & fit. The subscription for the TrakKING Adventure is £9.95 per month.
We would like to say a big thank you to Dave & the guys from DATATOOL for their hospitality over the last week. I gained a lot of product knowledge & it was a valuable & enjoyable experience being part of the DATATOOL family for those few days.
