It’s been a week of catching up while also welcoming more new motorcycles through our doors.

CCM Motorcycles at Motocross of Nations 2024

We were really honoured to represent CCM Motorcycles at the Motocross of Nations, Matterley Basin last weekend.

The racing was incredible, and the party atmosphere was infectious. During the breaks in the racing, the CCM stand was never quiet.

Some people were curious based on their own CCM motocross days when CCM manufactured motocross bikes. Plenty of others were experiencing the brand for the very first time.

During the weekend we spoke to motorcycle owners and enthusiasts from all over the world. From Australia, Sweden, The Netherlands, France, Germany, The United States and beyond, everyone was curious about the CCM brand.  The common theme of our conversations was just how impressed everyone was by the CCM brand and the portfolio of motorcycles.

Back in the workshop on Monday and we have started our catch-up projects.

As is normal in our business, sometimes motorcycles are here longer than anticipated. This is usually due to lack of availability for parts and then us fitting them back into our diary and finding the additional hours to complete the repairs.

Here are a couple of examples of how one job can become an overhanging job.

Currently we have the following:

Kawasaki Z750 – The Z750 joined us earlier this week for an interim service and to re-strip the front brake. Under investigation, the brake fluid reservoir was found to be dry. Further investigation found that the –   

The brake caliper pistons were worn out and needed replacing including replacing the seals. 

The brake pivot arms were both worn and have grooves in the arms.

The front brake discs were worn out front brake pads need replacing. We also need to fit a brake master cylinder repair kit to enable to get the right amount of brake fluid to travel through the lines as the master cylinder is worn out.

The fork seals are leaking.  

The stanchions on the Z750 had already shown signs of rust previously, but now our customer would like us to source new ones.

We have had authorisation for the work but some parts on 10-14 day back order. This one is ongoing.

CCM GP450

When the CCM joined us a couple of weeks ago, the bike had not run for 5 years.

We have since got the bike running, but it now needs remedial attention for items we found were not working like the fan, brake lights and replacing the tyres.

We are still taking bookings for service and repair. Here is a snapshot of some of the motorcycles we have worked on this week.

CCM Spitfire RAFBF100

The CCM RAF100 joined us for its first service this week. As an approved CCM service and repair centre we can complete all CCM service and warranty work inhouse.

BMW R1200RT

We are often asked if we work on BMW motorcycles. Yes we do.

We are also asked if we work on the larger model BMW motorcycles. Yes we do.

The BMW R1200RT joined us for valve clearance checks, throttle body balance, a nose to tail check over and new tyres.

DJK Motorcycles – Motorcycles for sale

As regular readers probably know, we support our good friend Danny Kinally of DJK Motorcycles Ltd with all of his pre-sales checks and servicing.

The Royal Enfield Interceptor joined us for changing the exhausts back to standard and an interim service.

The Triumph Tiger Sport joined us for pre-sales safety checks. Both bikes are more examples of the great quality motorcycles DJK Motorcycles have for sale.

Winter Valet and ACF50 treatment

As the seasons start to change, now is the time to think about taking care of your motorcycle through the Autumn and Winter months.

One way of protecting the moving parts of your motorcycle is an ACF50 treatment.

ACF-50 can penetrate deep into crevices, deactivates corrosion, and prevents further corrosion. It can also dissipate moisture and provide an atmospheric barrier to prevent further moisture contact. ACF-50 is safe to use and does not contain wax, resin, or silicon.

An ACF50 treatment should last you through the winter months.

Motorcycles for sale

CCM Bobber (2024). CCM ex demo. 300 miles. £11,245.

This CCM Bobber is offered as a CCM ex demo with only 328 miles on the clock. The Bobber comes direct to us from CCM.

The CCM Bobber is the most comfortable ride in the CCM bike range. The handcrafted, sculpted saddle allows you to sit on the bike, with a relaxed riding position from the raked-back bars and mid-position foot controls. Lowering the centre of gravity endows the bike with amazing handling.

The lightweight design makes it agile and responsive, with distinctive 16″ laced wheels and retro-looking tyres that enhance its laid-back aesthetics and contribute to its exceptional handling.
