Motorcycle service, repair, MOT and tyres at mono motorcycles
A mixed bag this week with some of our bigger projects now starting to come in. Let’s take a look at some of the motorcycles we have welcomed through our doors this week.
Honda Africa Twin
On Monday we welcomed a Honda Africa Twin for a Major Service, new front tyre and chain/sprockets.
We also welcomed a BMW R1250 for an MOT and replacing the rear brake pads.
Honda CBF600SA6
On Tuesday we welcomed a Honda CBF600SA6 initially for an interim service, fork seals and an MOT. However, at receipt it was noted that the front brake pads were out, and the rear sprocket was badly worn. Having contacted our customer, he authorised the additional work.
Triumph Rocket III
On Monday we welcomed a Triumph Rocket III for a valet and ACF50 winter treatment.
We are currently offering the Winter Valet at £60.00 + VAT.
ACF-50 can penetrate deep into crevices, deactivates corrosion, and prevents further corrosion. It can also dissipate moisture and provide an atmospheric barrier to prevent further moisture contact. ACF-50 is safe to use and does not contain wax, resin, or silicon.
An ACF50 treatment should last you through the winter months.

Yamaha MT-09
The MT-09 joined us on Wednesday for an interim service and to replace the fork seals.
Suzuki V-Strom 1050 and BMW G650GS – For sale at DJK Motorcycles Ltd

Honda Pan European
On Thursday we welcomed our first winter regeneration.
The Honda Pan European has joined us this week to wake up after a 6 year nap. The Pan – a former Military Police Bike – has been with the owner since he retired from being an MP. As him and his bike had been through a lot together, it made sense to him to take the bike with him when he retired.
The Pan has already had a tank drain, carbs off and cleaned and a new battery fitted. The carb gaskets have all perished, so these are now on order.
The next part of the process is a Major Service, cambelt change, all fluids changed and new tyres.
Our customer is realistic about the cost implications of such an overhaul, and we have prepared a guide estimate to cover the work. He is also realistic about the fact that there may be unforeseen things which need attention, and he has budgeted accordingly.
If you are considering a recommission or regeneration of a motorcycle and are considering asking us here at mono motorcycles to assist, then please do get in contact via email in the first instance. If you could send as many details about the bike, how long it has been sat, any faults it may have had before it went to sleep and as many photographs of the bike now, this would help enormously.
Once we are in receipt of this information, we can let you know if this is something we could support you with. Please do always remember that if a motorcycle has been sat for a few years, it will need some TLC and some £££’s spent on it to get it back on the road. Please note we are not able to offer full restoration services here at mono motorcycles.

MOTs and Free MOT offer
mono motorcycles are now offering MOTs, alongside our full suite of service and repair options.
If you are looking for a local and professional MOT testing centre, then contact us today to make a booking.
We are also offering a free MOT with any Full or Major Service booked between October 2024 and the end of February 2025.
