You know the scenario: you have installed the new beautiful LED flashers in your bike and now you have trouble with the flasher speed because the new LED lights have a much lower power consumption compared to the old bulbs, leading to faster flashes or any kind of other trouble with your ECU in your bike.
However, you can buy and try different load equalizers for your bike until you have spend much time and money and have found the right load equalizer for your bike.
The solution is a digital adjustable load – equalizer with 50 different pre-sets.
The Vari Load is connected to your flashers. The load is adjustable via a simple “programming” cable.
The load is simply adjusted by touching and holding the blue cable to + 12 Volt or ground. A touch and hold to + 12 Volt increases the load up to 15 Watt. Touching and holding the blue cable to ground results in a decrease of the load down to 0 Watt. A flashing LED indicates the change of the load and the pre-set number.
The LED is permanently on if the minimum or maximum value is reached and switches off when you remove the blue cable and the adjusted value is stored in the Vari Load as pre-set. The time between the lowest load value and the maximum load value is about 20 seconds.
Please note that the Vari Load should only be used in bikes if the maximum load is below 10 Watt. Higher load values above 10 Watt are only intended for a short-term workshop use. Please use the Vari Load XL in a bigger housing which is available soon. The Vari Load XL can transmit the high temperatures better outside of the box.
The Vari Load can search for the right load with an automatic mode. Just wire the blue cable to ground before you switch on the ignition.
Activate the flashers after switching on the ignition and the Vari Load starts to search for the correct load for your configuration by measurement of the flasher frequency and increasing the load slowly.
The correct load value is stored in the Vari Load when the flasher frequency is down to 90 flashes / minute.
The Vari Load is a cool tool for your workshop as well and belongs in every toolbox. You can adjust the required load value with the Vari Load at a customer bike and implement standard resistors against the Vari Load after you have figured out the right value. A printed table with the required resistors is in the manual.
Just feel free to download the manual for further information.
