A varied week here at mono motorcycles. Let’s take a look at some of the bikes which have joined us this week.

Sunday June 7th

After working 13 days straight, a massive lie-in was definitely in order last Sunday.

Once we finally got moving, we headed over to The Crate Cafe & Bar for a late brunch (breakfast was a distant memory by the time we actually got there!), followed by a gorgeous ride out through the West Sussex and Hampshire countryside. We made a quick pit stop at Petersfield Lake before heading back home. 🏍️🏍️😊

Monday June 8th

We had a really varied mix of bikes through the doors at the mono motorcycles workshop on Monday.

First up, we had a Kawasaki ZX7 in for a service, new tyres, and an MOT. During the health check, we found that the starter relay had failed, so this had to be replaced as part of the work.

Next was a Kawasaki Z800 for its annual service. The owner only recently bought the bike, and since there was no record of the spark plugs ever being replaced in the paperwork, he asked us to swap them out just to be safe.

We also had a Triumph Bobber in the workshop for its annual service and MOT, alongside a Triumph Speed Triple booked in for a major service. The Speed Triple had been off the road for a few years now—its last MOT expired back in April 2022!

Wednesday June 10th

Some of you might remember the stunning custom Ducati that came into the workshop last November.

The plan was for us to finish off the build and completely rewire it before the owner shipped it abroad. Unfortunately, the bike ended up sitting with us for an extra six months while we waited on another company to supply some bespoke parts. Without them, Daniel couldn’t get the wiring finished.

Thankfully, the parts have finally arrived, and Daniel is well on his way to wrapping the job up.

The owner is actually flying in next week and staying nearby so he can be here to hear it fire up for the very first time. Since the engine, chassis, and carbs were all built by different specialists, this is going to be a massive milestone for him.

Thursday June 11th

Talk about a day of extremes today!

We started off with a Ducati 1198 S in for a quick clutch bleed.

Then we went to the opposite end of the spectrum: a brand-new Royal Enfield Himalayan for its first service, followed by a Triumph Street Triple in for a major service.

Just another typical, diverse day here at mono motorcycles.

Friday 12^th June.

First up on Friday welcomed a familiar face back to the shop—a regular BMW R9T in for its annual service.

Daniel spent Friday plugging away at the Ducati custom wiring and undertook some more MOT’s.

We also finally sorted the quick-action throttle cables on the Suzuki GSXR 600, which the bikes previous owner had left way too short. The bike had originally come to us for fork seals and under investigation we found a few more issues with the bike.
