Triumph, Ducati, CCM, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Honda, KTM and Royal Enfield at mono motorcycles this week.

Blog

The sun is shining, the phone is ringing and the workshop is a hive of activity. Let’s take a look at some of the motorcycles which have joined us this week.

Mon 31st March

Daniel started his day early on Monday with some more work on the Ducati Hypermotard wiring loom. The Hypermotard originally joined us in early March having sustained some melted wiring at the rear of the bike after our customer had fitted a tail tidy.

The damage was considerably more severe than appeared on the surface and the entire wiring loom has had to be replaced.

We then we welcomed back a regular to the mono motorcycles workshop, the Kawasaki Vulcan 650. The Vulcan joined us for a Major Service, chain/sprocket, rear tyre and an MOT.

Then we welcomed a very clean Honda CBR1000RR for a full service. Unfortunately during the testing process it was found that the bike was over charging at 18v+. This meant that the regulator rectifier had failed and in doing do where the bike has been over charging, it had boiled the battery. We put these items on order and completed the work on Wednesday.

In between these jobs we had several visitors, three more MOT’s and plenty of bookings being made.

Tues 1st April.

First up we welcomed a Ducati 1100 Scrambler Pro Tribute for an Interim Service. It was only once the bike was up on the ramp were we aware that the Desmo light was on. Having spoken with our customer we completed the Interim service today and will complete the Desmo in June.

Next up we welcomed a lovely Yamaha Tracer for an Interim Service and an MOT.

We then welcomed a Triumph Rocket III to the workshop. Daniel took charge of this one and his first task was to remove the insides form the original tank and fit in a new tank. Unfortunately, our customer having filled up with fuel a couple of weeks ago discovered a split in the original fuel tank and had to source another one.

Once the tank was sorted Daniel continued to give the bike a full service and snow foam wash in advance of a clean and ACF50 treatment and then an MOT.

Weds 2nd April

Catch up day with a few extras on Wedneday.

First up we welcomed a KTM Superduke R for an Interim Service, chain and sprocket replacement and an MOT.

Next up Daniel completed the Triumph Rocket III clean and completed an MOT.

The Mini GSXR 750 Gag Bike finally went home today to join it’s big brother the rear Suzuki GSXR 750.

In between these tasks we caught up with additional unforeseen repairs, which is why we keep Wednesday’s free.

Thurs 3rd April

On Thursday morning we welcomed a regular to the workshop in the form of a Triumph Bobber ‘Robyn’. Robyn joined us for an annual service.

Next up while Daniel completed the Ducati Hypermotard, Oaklie set to task on our second Kawasaki Vulcan of the week. This Vulcan joined us for a full service, rear brake pads, identify source of an engine management light and dial in the rear shock.

Fri 4th April

On Friday we welcomed a Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 for a full service, valve check and an MOT.

We also welcomed a stunning Indian Scout for an MOT alongside a Yamaha Fazer, Honda CBR1100xx and KTM 790 Duke.

Katy’s new CCM Bobber.

You must have been living on the moon the past week if you haven’t heard or seen Katy babbling on about her new CCM Bobber. Suffice to say, it would appear she is enjoying it no end.

Sunday 30th March “Maiden 50 mile voyage on my brand new CCM Bobber. What a fantastic day to get out and about in the West Sussex countryside. The sun shone, the roads were relatively clear and the Bobber was an absolute delight to ride. I love the torque and the smooth way the bike approaches cornering. I love how confidence inspiring the acceleration and engine breaking is and above all else, I love how much fun the Bobber is.

I’ve managed to purchase my Bobber on the CCM % finance option currently running. The deal has enabled me to become part of one of the UK’s longest standing British motorcycle manufacturers and I love it! From Katy”
