It’s been another non-stop fortnight here at the mono motorcycles workshop, with a fantastic mix of bikes rolling through the doors and the team firing on all cylinders. Here’s a little peek at what we’ve been up to!

Last week kicked off with a full house on the ramps. We had a bit of everything, from annual services on a Triumph Street Twin, Suzuki GSX125, and a classic Honda C90, to fitting new touch screens and heated grips on a Zontes 125 and the new Triumph 400.

We saw a fair few big bikes too, including a KTM 1290 Duke and a BMW R1200GS, both in for their annual check-ups.

One of the most critical jobs was on a Yamaha MT-09 that came in for new tyres and a chain and sprockets. It was a good thing, too! The rear tyre, an original from 2019, was worn right down to the cord – a crucial catch that keeps a rider safe on the road.

Of course, no workshop update would be complete without mentioning our official Workshop Controller and Customer Service Manager, Sprocket. He’s been working hard keeping morale high and ensuring every visitor gets a proper welcome.

Thursday was just as varied.

Oaklie started the day with a 6k service on a Royal Enfield 350 Meteor before diving into an AJP PR7 that came to us with some charging issues.

While the valve clearances were spot on, we discovered a failing stator and a faulty idle control valve. We’ve got it booked back in for June to get those sorted.

Meanwhile, Jack was busy with services on a BMW 310 and a Triumph Bobber, and Daniel’s day took an unexpected turn when he had to head out on a rescue mission!

One of our customers came off his bike just outside the farm. Thankfully, he was just shaken up with no injuries, but his MT-10 is staying with us for a new brake lever.

As the week wrapped up, the pace didn’t slow.

On Friday, Oaklie was busy with a Kawasaki Z1000SX, treating it to new fork seals, fresh tyres, and a smart set of end cans.

Jack handled services on a Benelli TRK 502 and a Triumph Scrambler, while Daniel had the pleasure of welcoming a stunning Honda SP2 for an MOT and a new gearshift indicator.

It’s a real team effort here, and everyone pulled together to get it all done. Go team Mono!

Our May Breakfast Club: Sun, Sausages, and Superb Company!

What a fantastic morning we had for our May Breakfast Club! The sun was out, the atmosphere was buzzing, and the air was filled with the sound of laughter and great conversation.

A massive thank you to the team at The Hungry Hog for serving up a delicious breakfast, to Iris for the incredible sweet treats, and to Danny at DJK Motorcycles Ltd for joining us and showcasing his latest sale bikes. Most of all, thanks to everyone who came along and made it such a special event. We can’t wait to see you all again in June!

Kicking off a new week with a roar!

We rolled straight into the next week with a “Kawasaki Monday,” welcoming our very first Kawasaki H2 to the workshop!

This supercharged beast was in for the works: valve clearances, coolant, plugs, and a fuel filter. After Oaklie meticulously put it all back together on Tuesday, Daniel took it for a test run. His verdict? “All of my future bikes need to have a supercharger!” Enough said.

We also welcomed back a Triumph Tiger Rally Pro for a major service and front brake discs.

The workshop was a hive of activity for the rest of the week. We investigated a rough-running Yamaha MT125 and made the shocking discovery that it had no coolant in it at all. After resetting the cam timing, it still wouldn’t rev properly, suggesting some potential top-end damage from overheating. This one has now gone home while our customer works out what they want to do next.

We also had a KTM 1290 Superduke in for a new rear tyre, and when Oaklie took the wheel off, he could hear a mysterious rattle. It turned out to be the tyre pressure monitor, which had come apart inside the tyre! You never know what you’re going to find.

We had a busy couple of days in the workshop to round out the week.

Thursday started with a Royal Enfield Classic 350 in for its very first service, followed right after by a Royal Enfield Hunter needing its annual service and a tappet check.

We also got a Honda Zoomer all sorted with a service and MOT.

On Friday it was great to welcome back ‘Stan’ the Yamaha Dragstar for his annual service and MOT, and in the afternoon, we got a Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 fitted with a new rear tyre and a fresh MOT.

From routine services to complex diagnostics and a few surprises along the way, it’s been another rewarding fortnight of keeping your bikes safe, sound, and ready for the road.
