Motorcycle Workshop Assistant (Part time)
Do you love motorcycles? Are you passionate about motorcycles and the motorcycling world? Are you looking for your first experience of working in the motorcycle industry? Are you a student currently studying Level 1 / 2 or 3 Motorcycle Maintenance? Then we may have the opportunity for you!
We are looking for an enthusiastic, responsible, and organised part-time Workshop Assistant to support the smooth running of the mono motorcycles workshop.
Duties would include:
Assist with motorcycle repair and servicing.
You will be expected to support and assist the other technicians with all aspects of motorcycle service, repair, MOT’s and wiring.
Interpreting motorcycle job sheets.
You will use company-created motorcycle job sheets to determine which repairs are needed on motorcycles.
You will ultimately be expected to allocate parts to each job and ensure they are easily accessible by the other technicians.
Learn repair techniques.
You are expected to learn aspects of the business both in a practical and administrative sense. You will learn how to repair vehicles through hands-on work tasks supervised by Daniel Morris and the other technicians.
Inspect motorcycles prior to work and before return to the customer.
All motorcycles must be thoroughly inspected before and after repair procedures with photographic evidence kept for each motorcycle.
Mileage must be recorded before any work commences.
Any physical anomalies must be recorded prior to the customer signing the motorcycle in.
All motorcycles must be signed back out by the customer using the appropriate documentation.
Clean workshop, inventory, and customer areas.
You will be responsible for performing light custodial tasks to keep the workshop and customer areas clean, presentable and tidy. This includes sweeping up regularly, hoovering carpeted areas and keeping the work ramps and other surfaces clean and clear of clutter.
Furthermore, you would be expected to keep stock levels monitored and the stock system clean and tidy.
Disassemble motorcycles.
You will be expected to assist and or complete motorcycle fairing and panel removal in advance of servicing and repair. In addition, you may be asked to disassemble engines and components under guidance.
Order motorcycle parts.
You will ultimately be expected to order new parts for vehicles over the phone and online.
Additional duties.
To perform any other duties pertaining to the smooth running of the mono motorcycles workshop.
Essential requirements are:
Must have a passion for motorcycles, biking and the world of motorcycles.
Must have a basic understanding of motorcycle engines and service needs. Proof required.
Must be able to work as part of a team and take instructions from the other technicians.
Person requirements:
You must own your own motorcycle and be legally old enough to ride it on the road.
You must be punctual and complete your contracted hours fully.
You must be prepared to undertake any task asked of you to support the smooth running of the workshop.
You must be able to commute to and from the mono motorcycles workshop.
We would prefer that you are a non-smoker.
Salary: Dependent on age and experience.
Start date: Immediate.

Interview.
If we invite you to an interview, we may ask you to identify key components and functional parts of a motorcycle as part of the interview process. We may also ask you to identify liquids and components which would be used as part of essential motorcycle maintenance.
We would expect you to know the names of the working parts of a motorcycle and their purpose.
We may also ask you questions about the fundamentals of motorcycle service, safety and maintenance.
This will help us determine your knowledge and understanding of the workings of a motorcycle.

MOT Tester – Class 1 and 2 – Part time.
We are seeking a skilled/qualified Class 1 and 2 MOT Tester to join our team (part time). As an MOT Tester you will be responsible for conducting motorcycle inspections to ensure they meet safety standards. This is a hands-on role that requires mechanical knowledge.
Essential experience:
Previous experience as an MOT Tester and up to date MOT licence required.
Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of motorcycle systems.
Duties:
Perform MOT tests on motorcycles in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
Inspect vehicles for safety compliance.
Identify and document any defects or issues found during the inspection.
Advise customers on necessary repairs or maintenance to pass the MOT test.
Conduct retests after repairs have been made.
Keep accurate records of all tests performed.
Maintain a clean and organised work area.
Complete motorcycle service and repair tasks during down time.
Support the other technicians with day-to-day service and repair tasks.
Skills:
Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify defects or issues during inspections.
Salary: £12.00 – £15.00 per hour.
