The sun is shining & the service booking sheet is filling up at mono motorcycles & vehicle security. Thus far we’ve seen a pristine GSXR 750, three Triumph Sprint’s, a Ducati 999 & a KTM 990 Superduke. Read on to see what processes Daniel Morris of motorcycles & vehicle security has worked through this week.

mono motorcycles & vehicle security started this week with a pristine Suzuki GSXR 750 in the workshop for a full service & MOT. The GSXR had been off the road for a few months & needed a service, not only for the service book, but to ensure she was safe to ride.

In addition, we have three Triumph Sprint’s to work on too this week. The first, Triumph Sprint ST, has been brought to mono motorcycles & vehicle security by an existing customer, who also has a Thruxton in his living room & a Truxton R in his garage! However, this Triumph Sprint ST is in for a full service, following the refitting of a new radiator by the customer. Daniel has completed a full service, valve clearance check & ECU update.

The second Triumph Sprint ST we saw this week, was in dire need of new rear brake pads. In addition, the caliper was seized. Following a strip, clean & fitting of new pads, the Triumph was ready to go on her way.

The final Triumph Sprint RS we have in this week, is being readied for a full service next week. It is refreshing to see so many beloved motorcycles not only being taken care of & maintained; but also so many being ridden & enjoyed by their owners.

The Ducati 999 which we have worked on before, was back for some upgrades this week. Daniel Morris has built a bespoke switching system to enable her owner to use colour coded buttons to control the switching for the lights & traction control. Although these can be bought off the shelf, the switches needed to be changed, to enable them to switch on & off. Following the removal of the fuel filter, which was full of debris, a niggling miss fire was diagnosed & finally traced to an imbalance in the Healtech Quickshifter & the vibrations through the Ducati 999. Only a few more programming issues upload & she can go home to her very excited owner!

A very tidy KTM Superduke 990 has come in to the workshop this week for a full service, change of tyres, MOT & full machine detail. The KTM’s owner is taking her to Wales soon & wants her in tip top condition to take advantage of the excellent riding conditions there.

Next week mono motorcycles & vehicle security are focusing on the Yamaha FZR Genesis which we rescued on a very snowy day in February. The Suzuki TL1000R & the FZR belong to the same collector, who is very eager to see both motorcycles back on the road. Check in next week for a progress update on this & all of our other projects.
